I know I usually quote the Bible first, but my thoughts this morning continue to focus on what INXS sang about in the late eighties and which rings so true in our lives today. We were all born with the devil, sin, in side of us. We know it when we can not sleep at night because we worry about something that is occurring in our lives. We know it when we snap at each other in anger. We know it when we gossip about others or judge them as if we are somehow better.

In Paul's letter to the Colossians, chapter 3, verse 17 he writes "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." This verse can provide great comfort to know that the Lord dwells inside of us as well. But it is a fierce battle. We must pray for the strength to defeat the devil. But it is hard, and the closer we get to God and His Word, the harder the devil drives to take our souls.

I ask that we all pray for one another, pray that we all can defeat those demons that play in our minds. Pray that we can defeat Satan and reject the thoughts and worries that he implants in our minds. I ask especially that you pray for me as my struggle with the devil becomes more intense.
