Pray for our enemies

"Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief."                1 Timothy 1:13

This quote from the Bible is from Paul directed at Timothy and is part of his description of the grace and mercy shown to him by God. This helps to paint a picture of why we should be praying for our enemies. We should pray that our enemies, like Paul, are touched by God either through our actions, words or prayers.

In these times where we are being attacked because we are Christian, we must stay strong and not bow to our sinful nature and start attacking the attackers. Instead, listen to the voice of Christ on the cross. "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" Luke 23:34.

Prayer is so powerful. When we pray for others; a neighborhood, a family, a group of troubled people; we are shining a spotlight on these people for God to see. Just think that the more people shining a spotlight, the brighter that spot would be. Let us all continue to pray for our enemies. Pray that God will shine blessings down on them, so that they may realize the love of God firsthand. Maybe, like Paul, they will become warriors for Christ and turn away from being warriors against God. Pray that they become educated in the Truth of the Word. Pray for peace moving forward.

God Bless you.
