God's will be done.

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer"
                                                   Matthew 21:22

Does this verse indicate that if I believe Jesus died for my sins, and ask for a new BMW, I will receive a new BMW? No, of course not for Jesus says in John 16:23 "I tell you the truth, My Father will give you whatever you ask in My name." and lets us know that there are right ways to pray for what we need. We are to pray in His name and to pray for God's will to be done. We must always remember that God has a plan for each of us and with that plan He knows what is best for us.

This is sometimes tough to comprehend. We know that if we do well on a particular task that we will be rewarded with a pat on the back, maybe a cash bonus, or some other recognition. But that is earthly recognition and we must keep it in perspective. We can surely pray to ask God to help us in completing the task successfully, but we must ask with God's will in mind. We may think that not completing the task is failure, and it might be in our eyes, but in God's eyes we must remember that every success and every failure is part of His plan for us.

Keep this in mind, and continuously pray for God's will to be done in your life. Pray for God to keep revealing pieces of your plan to you as you walk with Him in His Word.
