"If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Romans 8:31
What comfort this verse gives me at the start of this weekend. God is our protector, and in Him we can feel safe whether we are sleeping at night or moving about during the day. God is always watching over us. No matter how bad things seem to be getting in this world we live in, we can always recall this verse and have comfort in where we stand.
At church we have just started a 10 week study going through Focus on the Family's Truth Project. Wow, it is very intense and really provides a lot of food for thought. With one session under my belt, I am excited to experience the next session. It is thought provoking and looks to allow us to look closely at how God has provided detail into every aspect of life as we know it. It also shows us how throughout time, Satan has continued to provoke us into living lies as opposed to the Truth that can only be found in the Word of God. We can choose to reject the Truth and live the lies, or we can reach out and try to comprehend the awesome Truth of God. If we do the latter, the promise of a better, peaceful life is there for us to partake.
An interesting thing I took away from the first session was the vision of those living without knowledge of God or not having the Holy Spirit yet work to provide them faith can be seen as captives, awaiting to be freed by Jesus and His death on the cross. It is an interesting thought and will definitely have an impact as I view others. We must remember that we are all equal, just some have been freed from the captivity and others are still waiting. Let us all pray and help those that are still captive to see their Savior and be freed from the captivity of Satan.
God Bless your weekend.
